Congratualtions Manchester Street School
(Posted on: October 12)
Congratulations to Manchester Street School who reflected on to the Silver Stage of the Enviroschools Programme last month. Manchester Street has been an Enviroschool since 2002 and have embedded and weaved a whole range of sustainability practices throughout their curriculum.
The day started with a welcoming whole school assembly, speeches and presentations followed by various tours of the school’s environmental programs and a carefully prepared lunch made by the school pupils with ingredients sourced from their school gardens.
The Enviroschools programme supports children and young people to plan, design and implement sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities. Its aim is to foster a generation of people who instinctively think and act sustainably. A third of all New Zealand schools are now part of the Enviroschools network. There are 48 Enviroschools in the Manawatu-Whanganui region.
