Manawatu District Council is supporting the first National Water Survey which is aimed at helping councils and water utilities better understand the challenges around planning and managing our water resources.

This is the first comprehensive survey that aims to find out New Zealanders’ attitudes and concerns about water issues – from sustainability and quality to managing infrastructure and urbanisation.

In New Zealand, as well as internationally, there are many factors that are placing increasing pressure on every aspect of the water industry as it grapples with aging infrastructure and increasing urbanisation. There has also been extensive media coverage over the past year on issues ranging from water quality, droughts, infrastructure capacity, investment to meet growth demands and the environment.

To participate and be part of the understanding process go to www.nzwatersurvey.co.nz

The survey will run for six weeks beginning 1 May.
