District Planning

The Manawatu District Council's planning team ensures that development of the natural and built environment is undertaken in a sustainable manner.

Planning is responsible for preparing Council's environmental plans and strategies.  These documents ensure that Council looks after the natural and built environment and assists in achieving the outcomes established with the Long Term Plan and the statutory requirements set out in the  Resource Management Act 1991www_Globe.jpg

Note: Boundary Change Area : Land Previously Under The Jurisdiction of Manawatu District Council

Land affected by the boundary adjustment with Palmerston North City Council has been incorporated into the Palmerston North City District Plan through a District Plan Change : Proposed Plan Change 15C – Boundary Change Area.  The Plan Change is included within Plan Change 15A-H which was publicly notified on 29 January 2015.  It is going through the final stages of the plan-making process, which is set out in Schedule 1 to the Resource Management Act 1991.
