Noise Control

Noise Control services are in place to ensure that noise levels, as outlined in our District Plan, are not exceeded.

This service is available to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Resource Management Act (RMA) 1991 sets enforcement proceedures to control excessive or unreasonable noise.

Hazardous Substances

Manawatu District Council has authority for enforcement of HSNO in private dwellings and public places.

A number of other organisations are involved in HSNO enforcement including:

• Occupational Safety and Health  at work places
• Land Transport Safety Authority  when being transported.
• HSNO - Hazardous Substances and New Organisms
