Manawatū District Housing Strategy
Housing supports whānau, community and national outcomes – intergenerational well-being, cultural pride, educational and vocational achievement, social and economic prosperity, and individual and national productivity.
To enable our whānau to thrive, we need to increase access to affordable housing in the District. This includes both affordable rental and home ownership options. Council’s Housing Strategy sets out the current challenges our community is facing in relation to affordable housing and the role Council can play in increasing the availability of affordable housing in the district.
The Manawatū District Housing Strategy is made up of three key documents:
- Housing Strategic Action Plan (adopted November 2021) (2MB pdf)
- Housing Stocktake (December 2020) (33MB pdf)
- Housing Programme Establishment Report (December 2020) (5MB pdf)
