Andrew Quarrie

My principal place of residence is in the Manawatū Rural General Ward area.

I am Andrew Quarrie and along with my wife Marilyn, son and his family farm sheep and beef at Rongotea. I am an active member of the Rongotea Lions Club and Rongotea RSA.

Over the past term of council, I have called for reviews in the following areas, Capital Development contribution charges, in particular water/wastewater to Mt Taylor and Rongotea, stormwater upgrades to villages as required, the future viability of the council nursery and the total charade, involving the delay in the Mangaweka bridge opening.

The issues arising in the next term are; the rural plan change, Feilding town centre redevelopment and the rural rate differentials.

I believe strongly in an open and transparent council minimising wasteful expenditure.

I am totally against a race based electoral system along with the proposed government 'Three Waters reform.'

If re-elected I will continue to be a passionate advocate for the rural community.
