Te Pāti Māori

My principal place of residence is not in the Ngā Tapuae o Matangi Māori Ward area.

I aspire to influence the council and advocate for an equal space that is culturally reflective of Te Tiriti and our Te Kōtui Reo Taumata. I am devoted to serving the voices of all our marae, iwi, hapū and hāpori. My whakapapa connects me to this area through Ngāti Kauwhata and Ngāti Matakore. I have served on Mana Whakahaere for seven years and recently presented at the Bio plant hearings on air quality and discharge. I will champion our rural and river water rights, restoration, and iwi and hapū development. It is important the Council commits and works hard to nurture trust, equity, and respect in our partnerships. I desire to demonstrate Māori reciprocity and equally advocate for the needs of our people and adequate resourcing. We have one Māori seat today, but collectively we will work to create more seats for our future. Tu māia, tu kōtahi.
