Arts and Culture
The Manawatū district is rich with history and arts. Council lends its support to a range of initiatives which celebrate our uniqueness and brings communities together.
Council has invested both time and funds into revitalising Mt Lees Reserve, making it more accessible to residents in the community and honouring the heritage of the homestead.
Creative Communities Scheme
Council has two rounds of CCS funding available each year, in which people can submit applications for their arts and performance based projects that aid the Manawatū District’s thriving arts sector.
Manawatū Street Art Festival
The first Manawatū Street Art Festival launched in 2022, which saw 5 artists murals painted on various buildings around Feilding. Funding was provided by both Manawatū District Council and Creative New Zealand.
