My Vaccine Pass update

My Vaccine Pass now required for Feilding Library and Makino Aquatic Centre visits

With the introduction of the COVID-19 Protection Framework, proof of vaccination will be required for people wishing to access the Feilding Library and the Makino Aquatic Centre from Friday 3 November.

This means that everyone over the age of 12 years and 3 months will be required to scan their valid My Vaccine Pass when they enter these facilities. This will apply when the district is in ‘Red’ or ‘Orange’ settings, but not at the ‘Green’ setting.

The Manawatū District will be entering the new protection framework at the ‘Orange’ setting. This means that customers will still be required to wear facemasks when moving around these facilities and they will still be required to scan in with the NZ COVID-19 Tracer app or sign in manually.

We understand that there are those in the community who will not support this decision that we have made, but vaccination passes will help Council offer greater protection to staff and customers.

Council has received queries from some people regarding rates reimbursements to unvaccinated ratepayers. Rates are set to have these facilities available for use, and it is ratepayers’ personal choice to use council services, just as it is their choice to be unvaccinated.

For users of the Feilding Library who are unvaccinated, a contactless click and collect service will be available.

If anyone needs assistance accessing their My Vaccine Pass, our Feilding Library team are able to help. Simply let staff know this as you enter the library and they will help you access your pass and then you are free to use the facility.
