Bainesse-Rangiotu Community Committee
The Bainesse-Rangiotu (including Tiakitahuna and Karere) Community Committee area is at the southern end of the Manawatū District. It is a rural area which grew around the Himatangi to Longburn portion of the highway and tram/railway which was surveyed in 1865-66 and completed in the early 1870’s to provide a link between the Port of Foxton and the fledgling town of what is now Palmerston North.
Bainesse-Rangiotu Community’s vision is that Bainesse/Rangiotū is a rural community who cares about each other, their environment and works together for their future wellbeing.
