Upcoming Road Closures

Below is a list of upcoming road closures that are scheduled to take place in 2024 due to planned maintenance work or events being held.

Temporary Closure of Otara Bridge, Ohingaiti

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that Otara bridge, on Otara Road, will be closed between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm commencing Tuesday 13 February 2024 until Tuesday 30 April 2024 to allow Riverside Construction Ltd to undertake strengthening works on the bridge.

Please use alternative routes during this time. All current restrictions continue to apply until notified otherwise.

Temporary Closure of Main South Road, Apiti

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that, Main South Road from Conspicuous Road to Te Parapara/Renfrew Road will be closed from 7.00am Monday 22 April 2024 until 6.00pm Tuesday 23 April 2024, for the purpose of urgent road repairs.  Should weather or other factors outside of the contractors control delay the works, they will be undertaken on the next suitable dates.

Residents will have access to their properties during this closure, but may need to enter at certain points for their access. Please follow instructions from contractors onsite.

Temporary Road Closures - ANZAC Day Memorials

Manawatu District Council wishes to advise that the below roads will be closed in order for Feilding RSA, Halcombe Community Committee and Apiti RSA to conduct their ANZAC day memorials on Thursday 25 April 2024.

Feilding

5.30am to 8.00am

Bowen Street – from its intersection with Warwick Street to its intersection with Manchester Street

Manchester Street – from its intersection with Bowen Street to its intersection with Fergusson Street

Kimbolton Road – from its intersection with Warwick Street to its intersection with Stafford Street

Manchester Square – including the portion of Goodbehere Street between Manchester Square and MacArthur Street

Halcombe

10.00am to 12.30pm

Levin Street – from the Rugby Clubrooms to Willoughby Street

Stanway Road – from Railway tracks to Ingram Street

Willoughby Street – from Stanway Road to Levin Street

Apiti

9.00am to 12.00pm

Makoura Road - between Oroua Valley Road and Bryce Street
