Requester Name:Jordan Abernethy
Organisation:Colliers International
Requested Information:

We manage the property at 36 Duke Street, Feilding (LOTS 1 2 DP 11284 - 14081/1801) on behalf of Land Information New Zealand.

We've had few complaints recently from neighbours in the area regarding excessive noise, prolonged shouting etc from occupants of the property at unreasonable hours, effecting their quiet enjoyment and causing distress. The issues have been reportedly going on for some time, however we have only just recently been made aware.

The reports we have received indicated that various neighbours had contacted Police and Noise Control on several occasions, but the neighbours could not confirm specifics on any attendances (dates/times/frequency).

Can you please confirm if there has been complaints lodged to your noise control department in the last six months, and if possible the quantity and/or dates of these complaints.

Depending on the extent of information you can provide, if you can advise if there had been warnings or direction given from the officer to the occupants.

We have a fairly limited window of time under the new RTA changes to take action, so hoping that we can get this information soon if required to substantiate the claims for tribunal/A-SB notices.

Please let me know if you require any further information.

I can confirm that there have been no incidents of excessive noise reported to Council including afterhours noise control officers in the past 6 months.

Only two reports of excessive noise have been received regarding this property, one in February 2019 and one in July 2017.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
