How many Waste Transfer Stations are there within your area? (Please list)

Our Resource Recovery Centre is the only transfer station in our district.

What materials are they permitted to handle?

Our transfer station accepts;


Materials that we do not accept, they are also listed on our website - Transfer Stations | Manawatū District Council (mdc.govt.nz) and includes:

  • Tree stumps larger than 1 metre in diameter
  • Bulk liquid waste
  • Animal carcasses
  • Bulky metal wastes
  • Asbestos
  • Hazardous waste - quantity limited to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kgs
  • Flax (including cabbage trees) and Agapanthus can be disposed of in general waste, but not green waste.
