I have received your request for information regarding noise complaints received by Manawatu District Council during a week long period of the lockdown compared to a standard week prior to lockdown commencing.

As noise complaints can fluctuate depending on the time of year etc I have given noise complaint stats for the period 23/03/2020 to 30/03/2020 and compared those to complaints received for the same period last year.

For the period 23/03/2020 to 30/03/2020 Manawatu District Council received 11 complaints of excessive noise. For a similar period last year (22/03/2019 to 29/03/2019) Manawatu District Council received 13 complaints of excessive noise.

Please note that due to the lockdown I am aware that some noise complaints were made directly to NZ Police over this period. Unfortunately we do not hold any stats for any complaints received by NZ Police.
