A.The pool ‘shallow-end’ depth is 1.05m plus 30 cm from water level to top of the bulkhead. This is within FINA regulations for platform diving.
Q. Does your lifeguard know that them along with the pool, council would have been liable if something went wrong. Can I please see these rules & guidelines that allow diving from the shallow depth end of your pool,
A. see attachment 1. “Experienced swimmers may dive at their discretion, but keep a watchful eye.” The school principal and staff were present and deemed the children were competent to dive in the shallow end.
Q. I would also like to see copy of your hazard register as I want to see your method of mitigation for swimmers diving & hitting the bottom of the pool.
A. Attachment 2. Please note that this contains just the risks that relate to diving.
Q. I would also like to see the incident reports from the two other situations I was made aware of last night.
- the backstroke flags were not installed even when asked for & one on the kids hit their head hard on the finish wall .
- One older kids had to go in the pool to rescue a kid that was going under.
A. As Nicky advised there were no incidents reported or recorded at this event, either by lifeguards or school staff.
We trust this answers the questions you have raised.

Requested information: Applications for chicken farming operations
Status: Complete
Date responded: 21/03/2019
Response:
The Manawatu District Plan permits farming as an activity in the Rural Zone. Chicken farming is included as part of the definition of farming, unless it falls within the definition of ‘intensive farming’.
In the last 12 months, Council has received no applications for intensive farming, or poultry farming specifically.
There are occasions where Council has communicated with parties regarding intended extensions to poultry farms – but these have not resulted in the need to obtain a resource consent.
Where structures have been proposed, a building consent may have been required.
Building consents do not require specific use of the shed to be noted and unless the use, ie chicken farming, is mentioned during the course of the building consent process we would not know the intended use.
We do have four historic permits, dating from 1984 to 2016.

payments this year were only $35.26 and then the direct debit was recalculated and increased to
$55.08 from 28 August 18. This is done in August to coincide with your first rates instalment so
we can advise you of the new amount.
4 payments at $35.26 =
22 payments at $55.08 =
Total payments
$ 141.04
$1211.76
$1352.80
Your total direct debit payment on this valuation are calculated to clear your annual rates of
$1352.83.
The same principle would have applied for your 2017/2018 rates.
