Proposed Temporary Road Closure - Makariki Festival
PURSUANT to Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Manawatū District Council, proposes to close the following roads listed hereunder to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period as stated. to allow Feilding and District Promotion Inc to hold the Makariki Festival.
Date of Closure: Saturday 27 June 2026
Time of Closure: 3.00pm to 8.00pm
Perimeter Roads of Manchester Square – from Feilding Hotel around to Paper Plus.
Manchester Street - from Bowen Street to Manchester Square at the toilet/memorial quadrants.
Kimbolton Road - From Manchester Square at Feilding Hotel to Manchester Square at YOU travel.
Kimbolton Road - closed to all large trucks - from its intersection with Warwick Street to its intersection with Stafford Street. Access available to car parks and businesses only.
Any person objecting to the proposals is called upon to lodge notice of their objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 4.00 pm, Friday 15 May 2026, at the office of the Manawatū District Council, Private Bag 10001, Feilding, or email public@mdc.govt.nz. Any objections received by Manawatū District Council for this proposed road closure may be passed on to the Event Organiser. This may include contact details to allow the Event Organiser to make contact to discuss and attempt to resolve any concerns with the person/s submitting an objection.
