Get Ready: Three Funding Rounds Opening in June

Manawatū District Council has three different funding rounds opening for applications in June, supporting a variety of initiatives across the District. These might include waste minimisation projects, local events, or support for those representing the Manawatū District in their chosen activities. The following three funding rounds will open in June 2026:

Waste Not Want Not Fund (Opens 1 June 2026, closes 30 June 2026)

With three categories, Community, Innovation, and Business Waste Reduction, the Waste Not Want Not fund supports community groups, businesses and researchers with ideas and initiatives to reduce waste across the Manawatū District.

Event Fund (Opens 1 June 2026, closes 30 June 2026)

The Event Fund supports events or festivals that primarily benefit the Manawatū District residents and align with the Community Development Strategy vision, that “Our District offers a high quality of life for all residents”.

Representative Fund (opening mid-June 2026)

Supporting events taking place from 1 July 2026 onwards, the Representative Fund supports individuals or teams selected or qualified to represent the Manawatū District or New Zealand at a national or international event. It directly contributes to the Community Development Strategy’s vision of: “Our District offers a high quality of life for all residents”.
