PURSUANT to Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Manawatu District Council, for the purpose of permitting Bhartiya Samaji Lower North Island Trust to conduct the Diwali 2026 celebration, proposes to close Stafford Street and Bowen Street as listed below to ordinary vehicular traffic from 1.00pm until 11.59pm on Saturday 17 October 2026.

 

Roads to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic:

Stafford Street – from 54 Stafford Street to its intersection with Hobson Street

Bowen Street – from its intersection with Stafford Street to 44 Bowen Street

Any person objecting to the proposals is called upon to lodge notice of their objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 4.00 pm, Friday 7 August 2026, at the office of the Manawatū District Council, Private Bag 10001, Feilding, or email public@mdc.govt.nz. Any objections received by Manawatū District Council for this proposed road closure may be passed on to the Event Organiser.   This may include contact details to allow the Event Organiser to make contact to discuss and attempt to resolve any concerns with the person/s submitting an objection.
