14 May 2024 Update

The strengthening of the horizontal beams is now complete which means the bridge will reopen from 16 May to vehicles with a weight limit of 6 tonnes at a speed limit of 10km per hour.  We ask that one vehicle crosses the bridge at a time and that while crossing, vehicles travel central to the bridge.

You will still see work taking place as the 22 vertical hangers are analysed for signs of fatigue.  As the structural analysis is done, the bridge will continue to be closed to heavy commercial vehicles.
