Work to strengthen the Otara Bridge has now commenced, with contractors present on site to set up traffic management signs and preparing surfaces ready for welding to begin next week.

We’ll bring you regular updates on the progress of this project. The bridge will be closed between 9.00am and 3.00pm while work is underway – it is anticipated to conclude by 30th April 2024.

While work continues, the current restrictions still apply:

Weight limit of six tonnes and speed limit posted on the bridge.
One vehicle to cross the bridge at a time.
Vehicles to travel central to the bridge.
