Iwi & Hapū Planning Documents
Mā te rongo, ka mōhio
Mā te mōhio, ka mārama
Mā te mārama, ka mātau
Mā te mātau, ka ora
From awareness, comes knowing
From knowing, comes understanding
From understanding, comes wisdom
From wisdom, comes well-being
This webpage contains links to iwi and hapū planning documents that describe the values and aspirations of mana whenua for their rohe. Reading an iwi or hapū planning document may help people to understand the local Māori world view, their values, and the importance that the iwi and hapū place on their relationship with the environment. This may help in their work with iwi Māori.
Iwi and hapū planning documents provide an avenue through which their interests can be considered in planning processes. They provide information that may assist others, including Councils, to determine how they can take these plans into consideration.
Manawatū District Council is aware of the documents listed below but acknowledge that there may be others. Council is open to receiving planning documents as they become available.
