a) the recipients; Para Kore Waste Minimisation Education programme
b) the amount; $2,200 per year for three years
c) the date of approval; 22 May 2017
d) a list of the decision makers(s); Extraordinary Council meeting
e) any conflicts of interests declared during the decision making process; nil
f) the date(s) of payment; $2,200 paid 30 November 2018
g) the project summary; a waste minimisation education programme to be delivered to local marae.
h) how the grant promotes or achieves waste minimisation; excerpt from Para Kore LTP 2016 submission:
Para Kore is all about Zero Waste in Māori communities. In 2009, we started with a pilot project of three
marae. We are now supporting over 175 marae, kura, kōhanga reo and community groups
across Aotearoa to reduce waste through recycling and composting.
i) how the grant is in accordance with the WMMP – please refer to the strategic objectives or strategy in the WMMP the grant relates to; refer WMMP, link below
j) what follow up (post-implementation review) the Council has conducted to ensure the project was successful (or otherwise) in promoting or achieving waste minimisation (if any). We receive annual reports from Para Kore
2) We request the closing balances of the fund allocated to Waste Disposal Levy revenue for the 2016/17 $356,187 and 2017/18 $424,133 financial years.
