LGOIMA Request Details: LG1934

​Please find following my responses to your LGOIMA questions:

Under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 I request to know:

1. FULL details of the relevant Act, highlighting its relevant section and subsection, or relevant regulation et cetera which specifically bans the actual ratepayer (me) from being DIRECTLY informed of the new rates rise.

I note the 2020 increase is from $65.83 to $98.92, a drastic 50% increase.

There is no legislation, that MDC is aware of, that would ban you from being informed of any rates rise. As previously noted we are investigating what happened at our end.

2. What is MDC's  current debt level as of 30/6/20? Last year it was over $90,000,000; y/n? How many millions has MDC's debt increased since then?

3.  Which were the last THREE years MDC paid principal off their debt? I understand no debt principal has been paid since Ian McKelvie's mayoralty?

Loans Repaid   2018             5,000,000  2019           13,500,000  2020           12,372,840  Total Loans Repaid            30,872,840  ** this includes MDC's BNZ Credit facility

Please note, while MDC repaid these loans, it then drew down new loans to replace them.
