I refer to your official information request dated 15 February 2023.
The information you have requested is below.
1. A list of all CCTV cameras owned OR operated by the Manawatu District Council, or any Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs), including the locations of the cameras.
We have CCTV at the following locations; MDC building, Makino Pools, Skate Park, Refuse station, and the Library.
More precise locations are being withheld under section 6(a) - the making available of that information would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
2. Identify from the list what CCTV cameras are used for Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) within the area.
The only camera that is ANPR enabled is the camera situated at the refuse station.
3. Identify the brand and type of camera at each location (e.g. Hikvision, Panasonic etc). This information is being withheld under section 6(a) - the making available of that information would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
