Final Local Election Results Confirmed
Manawatū District Council confirmed the final results of the 2025 Local Elections, with all votes officially verified and the outcomes now declared final. The results are no longer preliminary.
Following the completion of vote counting and official validation by election officials, no changes were made to the preliminary outcomes released on 11 October 2025. The confirmed results reflect the democratic decisions of the voters across the district with a 43.19% voter return.

Mayoralty:

Manawatū Rural General Ward:
- Shelley Dew-Hopkins
- Alison Short
- Andrew Quarrie
- James McKelvie
- Rob Duindam
Feilding General Ward:
- Raewyn Loader
- Grant Hadfield
- Colin Dyer
- Sam Hill
- Jerry Pickford
Ngā Tapuae o Mātangi Māori Ward:
- Bridget Bell
In addition to the election of Council representatives, voters also took part in a binding referendum on whether to retain the Ngā Tapuae o Mātangi Māori Ward. The district voted not to retain the Māori ward beyond the current Council term. The outcome will take effect for the 2028 and 2031 local elections.
