The Creative Communities Scheme

Each year, Creative New Zealand provides Creative Communities Scheme funding to local and district Councils throughout New Zealand to be distributed in their area. The funding scheme supports more than 1,800 projects every year.

The panel is comprised of community representatives and Councillors who are familiar with local art activity.

What's involved?

The Creative Communities Scheme Funding Panel is at the heart of the success of the Creative Communities Scheme. As part of the panel, you'll help assess applications for funding from artistic individuals and community groups. You'll attend funding panel meetings at least twice a year.

Who are we looking for? 

• People who know what’s happening in the arts locally
• People who have experience in one or more forms of art
• People from a range of communities
• People with specific cultural knowledge relevant to the arts
• People of all ages. We would particularly like to include young people on the funding panel.

What's in it for you?

By joining the funding panel, you'll collaborate with like-minded people and play an active part in helping make things happen for the creatives in our community.

Granting access to funding for projects is more than just financial support. It enables local artists to share, promote and embrace their talents with the Manawatū District backing them and their mahi.
