New Lighting to Illuminate Feilding’s Clocktower
Scaffolding will soon return to the Feilding clocktower as work begins on a new lighting installation designed to enhance both its appearance and the surrounding environment.
The upcoming work is focused solely on installing a modern lighting system following the successful completion of recent repairs to the clock mechanism.
Funded through a grant from Central Energy Trust, the project will see the clocktower illuminated with white lighting, improving visibility and contributing to a brighter, safer town centre.
In addition to everyday lighting, the system will have the capability to display a range of colours. This will allow the clocktower to be lit in support of community events, national campaigns and local celebrations throughout the year.
Lyn Daly, GM Community says the project is an exciting opportunity to both enhance a well-loved landmark and add vibrancy to the district.
“The clocktower is a focal point for our community. This lighting will not only showcase it beautifully at night, but also finally gives us a way to acknowledge and celebrate local and national events.”
Special thanks to EEC, Holder Technology, Groombridge Electrical and Central Energy Trust for their support to the project. Council appreciates the community’s patience while scaffolding is temporarily in place.
