The Resource Recovery Centre accepts a wide range of household and commercial waste.
You can bring general household rubbish that cannot be disposed of through your normal rubbish collection, including larger loads.
Charges depend on the amount of rubbish you bring.
Accepted green waste can include typical garden material such as:
- grass clippings
- leaves
- garden trimmings
- branches and other suitable plant material.
Flax, including cabbage trees and yucca plants, gorse and agapanthus cannot be disposed of as green waste. These materials can be taken to the site but must go into general waste instead.
You can bring your timber waste, gib offcuts and concrete to the Resource Recovery Centre at 247 Kawakawa Road, Feilding, where it gets collected for recycling.
There are charges associated with dropping off these items, please see our fees and charges for more information.
If you have a builder doing a large project for you (or you are a builder!), you have uncovered some asbestos in your renovations, or you have other construction and demolition waste to get rid of, you can contact Central Environmental to help with recycling or safe disposal.
Central Environmental operates independently from Council, so contact them directly before taking construction or demolition waste to the site to confirm that your material can be accepted, any charges that apply, and how to access the facility.
Their facility is not open for general public drop-offs. Businesses need an account to use the site.
