Response: | In response to your LGOIMA request, our Compliance and Planning Manager replies as follows: On 25th November 2021 at 11.04am a call was received from a member of public. This person inquired whether 1 Sandown Ave had permission to operate a doggy day care located at the property. The Caller advised that they had seen different dogs at this location over the last week and they do not believe the orange plastic fencing is adequate to hold these dogs in. The caller advised that the lady has a van which indicates there is a doggie day care / grooming On 29th November 2021 a letter was emailed from Consents Planner Oliver Harper-Quayle to a registered owner of 1 Sandown Ave, Dion Jensen requesting clarification regarding the allegation that a doggy day care was running from the address. On 29th November 2021 a reply was received from Dion advising the following Hi Oliver! No, there is no doggy daycare run at my section. That's my Mums old business from Wellington, so her car that has dog crates in it for her own dogs still has the sign writing on it. I've moved my Mum and Dad up from Wellington so they're closer to me as I'm in Palmerston North. Hope that helps! Please supply a copy of the information you received as well as the identity of who supplied you the information under the The Official Information Act 1982 as well please. Thank you, With respect, Dion Jensen Founder 0221614737 On 30th November 2021 a reply was emailed back to Dion from Oliver Harper-Quayle stating Hi Dion, Thanks for your quick response! Many thanks for confirming the situation below regarding the dogs on the property. I will be passing this one onto the Animal Control team, they may contact yourself or your mother if the dogs need to be registered. I'm guessing it will probably be best if they contact your mother - could you please provide contact details? Regarding the OIA request - could you please make your request to public@mdc.govt.nz. You can use the reference "CCR66828" as this is the Council file for this enquiry. I do note that the information team may be required to withhold certain information to protect privacy. Make your request and they will let you know what they can and can't provide.
