Adding Colour to Local Cabinets
Chorus is looking for local artists to help beautiful their telecommunications cabinets.
Chorus is looking for the next set of local artists to add colour to their Chorus cabinets. With four locations allocated within the Manawatū District, it is always exciting to see the suggested and then the chosen designs come to life.
Whether you are a brushstroke beginner or an established artist, it’s a chance to show case your work to the local community.
The initiative started in 2010 as a test pilot in Auckland to try to reduce the amount of vandalism to the telecommunications cabinets. It was such a success the initiative extended across the country with approximately 170 murals completed each year.
This is MDC's third year participating. This year’s Manawatū locations are:
- Himitangi Beach
- Cheltenham
- Lethbridge Street, Feilding
- Waugh Road, Feilding
Artists will be paid for the materials used and a contribution of their time. Submissions are made to and reviewed by Chorus. Applications close 4pm on 1 October 2024.
