From 1 July, the Manawatū District Council will transition to Objective Build as its new Building Consent Authority software.
Objective Build is an end-to-end digital solution designed to simplify every stage of the building consent process.
Whether you're a first-time builder or a seasoned developer, the platform makes it easy to submit applications, book inspections, receive real-time updates from Council—such as which building inspector is assigned—and track key milestones like construction start dates and completed inspections.
The system provides a centralised hub for communication, helping bring greater transparency, efficiency, and ease to the building process in the Manawatū District.
For developers, Objective Build offers the ability to template frequently used applications across multiple projects. If your work extends into the Palmerston North City Council area, you'll benefit from a single Objective Build account that works seamlessly across both districts.
With over 20 years of experience supporting Councils around the world, Objective brings expertise in Building and Planning through endless work with builders, architects, designers and industry professionals across New Zealand.
"MDC is excited to partner with Objective to deliver a more seamless, consistent, and transparent experience for applicants across the Manawatū District and the wider region, explains Jason Rosenbrock, MDC’s Regulatory Services Manager."
Current applications will continue to be processed through Simpli until approved at which time the inspections for current applications will be transitioned to Objective.
To ensure that users feel confident with the transition of systems, current and potential users are invited to an in-person session on 12 June at 3pm in the Pātiki Onepū room at Te Āhuru Mōwai, 64 Stafford Street Feilding. The session is free to attend though registrations are requested. Register by clicking here.
