Nominations are open for the 2025 Community Honours.  This annual recognition highlights outstanding individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to our District.

Each year, Community Honours celebrate the unsung heroes whose dedication, service, and leadership make a lasting difference in the lives of others. From volunteers and caregivers to community organizers and youth leaders, the awards shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond to strengthen and uplift our neighborhoods.

Nominations could include, sports coaches, counsellors, community meal makers, environmental advocates, school leaders or is often the case, a combination of many roles.

Last year, two honours were bestowed: Dennis Emery and Hinekahu Gotty.  While their work is unique to their nominations, the commonality is their lifelong commitment to their communities.

The variety of applications received each year is a reinforcement of the number of volunteers and leaders that help to make the Manawatū a vibrant district.  Nominations can be completed online by clicking here.

Nominations close 5pm on July 31.
